Lol...bro I have a d16y8...and it doesn't respond to bolt-ons for ****...so I don't think you'll get much out of your 1.4.

Cold Air
Exhaust
Header

Those are the most generic ones you could get...I don't know if anyone makes camshafts for whatever series you have.

For the money you would spend on those 3 bolt-ons...you could get a d16 and up your hp by about 30-40...vs the 10 you MIGHT gain out of all of those bolt-ons...who knows you might get more out of bolt-ons...I've never had/seen/worked on a 1.4.

Do you know what type of ECU you have? Is your car obd1 or obd0?

^

Intake - 30 for ebay or some bomz setups.
Header - 75ish for ebay header that may or may not fit
Exhaust - 150 for some of the EJ8 exhausts on ebay but you may have to get custom I don't know **** about the EJ9s

That's 255 MINIMUM for all those bolt-ons and might put you at 100 HP...maybe more maybe less.

You can get a d16z6 for 350 or so...and then be set at 125 hp.

255 estimated or maybe WAY more depending on exhaust setups avail for your car...and a probable 10 hp....

350 estimated for a d16 for a 35 hp gain.....................also setting you up with a bigger aftermarket for parts, better platform to start building from even if you decide to go with FI

SpecialBrownie...I never once said that bolt-ons don't do anything did I? I said my d16y8...that I own...didn't respond well to bolt-ons...I also admitted my own ignorance to any 1.4 and said it might respond better to bolt-ons than my engine did. Why don't you try offering some helpful advice and get off of your ht-hater high horse.

BlueEJ9...best of luck with your build and hopefully somebody will chime in with a bit more experience on your engine and be able to clarify about potential gains from bolt-ons.

Uh, wut? I wasn't trying to get in your face bro, damn. I was just adding to the overall discussion that D series and bolt ons don't mix regardless of the displacement really. How the f*ck am I a hater?
