ej8 front end problem!
ok i have an ej8 with a b18b1 swap. when i take off in every gear something grinds really loud but i dont feel it in the shifter so i dont think its the trans. I replaced almost everything in the cv, half shaft, midshaft etc and the problem still occurs. could a wheel bearing be making this sound? but it doesnt make any noises once i get up to speed at all. only does it for the first 3 seconds of every gear and trans doesnt grind at all.
what could this be?

Re: ej8 front end problem!
id check your wheel bearings. its possible that it is them making the noise and they are just dry and worn out. However the only way to know for sure is to rule out step by step. I know my D series trans when it was cold used to make a wining sound like it was an F1 car untill it warmed up then toward the end it was loosing oil some how.. But anyways If its not the wheel bearing it may be the final drive or some bad syncros
