Default ej1 no power..

so for the most of you who have been reading and helping on the ej1 well i got the new harness in and hooked up. put the battery in and go to start it up.. turn the key to on nothing.. nodda..

so i go fiddle with all the grounds and power wires under the hood and still nothing.. so i just kept turning the key off and on and it finally came on and powered everything but still didnt start up and run.. after 6 seconds of turning it over i turned the key to off and back to on and again nothing.. now it wont come back no matter what..

pics of everything under the hood in just a second..

so question.. if my ignition was bad this whole time, would it have kept the power i needed from my injectors and stuff?

there is no clicks, dash lights do not come on, and horn still works.

for those of you who dont know about the car..

If its clicking when your turning the key, then main relay could be bad. Maybe could be ignition switch.

^^

there is no power to anything at all. all the fuses are good not one is blown.

the only thing working on the car is the horn and brake lights which don't require the car to be turned 'on'

Could the whole fuse box be bad? or maybe not even hookedup?

HIGHLY doubt that being as it was working 2 days ago just fine..

after i swapped the intake manifold,t-stat housing, water pipe, harness
cleaned all the grounds with a wire brush.

triple checked all the connections.. unplugged and re plugged the harness

still got nothing..

Ignition switch i think went bad, since you were turning the key back and forth, and then it gave out after so many tries.

i live 100 ft from a auto store.. they checked it this morning..

read the post above..

people please dont treat me as an idiot. ive pretty much tested all that i can test..

obviously if the horn works and the brake lights work with no problem obviously the dash lights would atleast come on.

im focused on the ignition problem now.

Are you just replacing the ignition key and tumbler assembly? If so your not going to fix the problem. you need the entire ignition switch assembly.

so i tired putting in the original lock cyl and wala it went in and locked in. turn the key and dash lights come on..

friend of mine stopped by so i had him check for spark and upon inspecting it shut off again so im like well its keeping it from locking up so something is wrong here..pull plug wires and..

all i can say is wow. this is kind of my fault.. junk yard wires that looked brand new..

pic is after i pulled the tube off of course.. and no the other end was obviously never there so its wasn't getting spark to those cylinders..

cyl #1 & 2 wires.

wiring or the junk on the firewall & strut towers?

only thing bad on the wiring is that one tie down for the harness on the drivers strut tower is bolted in.. besides that its stock wiring..

the junk is from the previous owner... its getting sprayed off just more worried about getting it running and driving than cleaning it..

a wire tuck will be done once i have my funds back..

no power problem has been fixed. guess my grounds didnt like a painted/dirty fender wall lol.

and on to the next problem..

so when the motor is started up and running.. if i try to give it any amount of gas it dies..no its still not starting on its own.. use of starter fluid and it starts right up.

btw its a d15b2 with a b7 im,t-stat,water pipe.
what would cause this?

also my injectors are spitting like water pistols and not in a spray form. is that normal or are they stuck/clogged?

also, the spark im getting from my dizzy is orange and not yellow like it used to.. defected or normal?
