EJ1 Backfires On Start-up
What would cause my EJ1 to misfire? Only thing I have on the car is an AEM sri and a, ebay catback...New plugs, fuel filter, wires, rotor...no cel either. It only back fires when I first start it in the morning. Every other start up it doesn`t...

Cel works, turns on when the car starts than turns off like normal.
Have not checked ignition timing yet. Maybe the rotor I got is defective?
The O2 is only 8 months old. The plugs look normal. Here`s a pic.
Could leaky injectors cause it to backfire only on the first start of the day?

I`ll check the timing and get back to you.
And no, the engine is running normal. No black smoke or erratic rpm surges. Unless theres another way to tell..

Mpg is about 26 average.
And no burnt fuel smell after it as warmed up. I`m thinking it could be that the engine is getting older. It does have 300k on it.

That's low mileage for a 95 Civic. I get 33-34 mpg with mixed city/highway driving for my 97 Civic.
Check the ignition timing.
How old are the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor? Do you have properly gapped NGK plugs installed?
