the eg6 looks a bit different than that eg4. i like the eg4 much better due to the amber needles and the black faces....

i dont know about the bulbs u can by the bulbs but the jdm ones have a sleeve over it which is amber that's why it lights up amber. usdm has a blue cover which makes white light. all u need is just the amber sleeve. i dont know where to get it.

I have a JDM cluster coming in the mail for me and from what i hear, the dimmer doesn't work anymore after the cluster has been installed. Fact or fiction? Also, i hear that JDM EGs don't have dimmer switches. Is this true as well? If so, has anyone tried swapping computer board (the soft plastic on the back that the blubs connect to) from the JDM to a USDM one? Will this get the dimmer to work?? Thanks.

yeah, it's FACT, i got an EG cluster and the dimmer doesnt work anymore... but i dont know how to change that... if you find out, let me know! thanks!

jdm climate control is electronic. usdm is cable driven. therefore, can't use

Just so I have this correct...You can just change the bulbs in the climate control? On all my other cars, the back of the buttons had blue coatings on them which prevented such an easy swap. So basically, you can change the bulbs in the cluster, and climate control on US units, and get the amber color? Sorry if i sound ignorant, I'm new to the EG (EH) scene. TIA

I must say those red needles are interesting. [EDIT: Hey, I just checked my car and EG6 has red needles too... what're you talking about man!]
However, EG4 has that crappy low tacho redline and has a black background during the daytime
On a side note, I think you can wire the dimmer switch to the current for the backlight. I think that's what was done to my car except they didn't use an OEM switch for the dimmer so it's butt ugly. In the process of finding one...
Also, I have an old Sony headunit that lights up amber (yes it's just a Sony) and it looks way better than the ugly panasonic that I had before (yucks blue and silver? almost as ugly as VAFC)
