So long short of it. Just did full power conversion on my 92 cx hatch I am rebuilding. I stripped the entire interior and replaced all the wiring from an pure uncut 95 ex coupe harness. I mean everything with the exception of the trunk area. While I was at it, installed a steath Viper 5901...blah blah. so I zipped everything back together last night and realized I had no lights except the headlights. Well after a little searching I blew a 10 amp fuse to the dash lights and found out that the wires from the EX end of the sub harness (along the drive sided floor board) to the rear of the CX harness, has a different pin configuration (assuming for more options, speaker connects etc). So I de-pinned the entire plug and re-pinned everything to corrolate with the CX harness. I got everything to work EXCEPT brake lights.
So hear is my question to the electrical cats out there.... The CX plug has a black (ground) wire in the plug and the EX does not. But the Ex harness has a 22 gauge white/red wire that I cannot figure out what it goes to. Everything else works as it should. Does anyone know what the white/red wirewas for if it was in the correct chassis(EX)? Also, why no ground in the EX harness like the CX? I know the rear harness is grounded by itself, and I am going to try and just ground the remaining ground pin from the CX harness to a ground spot and see what happens, but i want to know what the damn white/red wire is from the EX harness is for> anyone?
