Default EG vs EK?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but I'm still pretty new to Hondas.

Can anybody outline the pros/cons of the EK vs EG hatches? Particularly the EK DX hatch and the EG Si hatch.

I'm thinking of trading in my Nissan and take on a Honda as a daily driver, weekend racer. I'm not too concerned about power, but more in handling, braking, stability, reliability...etc.

Also, are there any special things to consider with each of these cars?

Thanks

Let me be the 1st to tell you before you get killed by the Noobie slayer.

DO A SEARCH!!!!!

This has been covered numerous times so just typeing in EK or EG should pull it up. Hope Ryan or Drag don't see this thread.

I wonder if anybody is willing to help me do a search since I've come up unsuccessful so far. The following searches have not worked for me and it's getting hard as I see that I can't use words with 2 characters or less:

"EK vs EG"
"EK"
"EG"
"Difference"
"Differences"

If not I understand. Lock, delete, flame away

Sorry dude, forgive some of these people who claim to not be n00bs. Anybody with half a clue knows that the miserably inadequate "search engine" (and I use that term very very loosely) requires at least 3 characters to search for, so "EK" or "EG" wouldn't work. And it searches only in the title, not the actual body of the thread. I think if you give a 4-yr old a PlayStation 2, he could code a better search engine with the gamepad.

Anyway, other than cosmetic differences, the EK's have longer lower control arms, which (depending how far you lower the car), usually eliminates the need for camber correcting devices. Basically the suspension is a little more refined than the EG. But the EK's are a little heavier than the EG's.

Anybody else want to contribute? Or just tell him to use the non-functional "search" (hahahah) button?

I tried differences (And looked in archived) and came up with a few topics. See what you come up with.

The DX from a 96 hatch is heavier then a 92-95 SI (WHich is the heaviest hatch of those years).

you just need to know what to search for and use the archived topics. It works, just take a few tries sometimes.

Thanks for the info CheezeFrog

Oh, and yes, I found several topics when I searched under "differences" but none related to EG vs EK.

You're right. The search engine sucks.
