Default EG SiR cluster tachometer accurate?

I have a 93 CX and I swapped an EX/Si cluster in it and the tach was way off, like over 25%. I heard this was a common problem...so i took that cluster out and put the stock one back in and got a 2.5" autometer tach. Now I dont like the look of it because im going for a sleeper look. My question is: is the SiR cluster tach known to be accurate or do people have the same problem as with the EX/Si clusters?

Stock tachs are inaccurate up to like 500 rpms. You will have the same problem depending on which one you get. One tach may be more accurate than another.

I dont even look at my stock tach anymore, Full Throttle Launch set to 3,500 (crap *** tires) cel shift light at 6,800 (SOHC ZC Vtec no high rpm power) and let the computer tell me where i am at.

Unless i get really noisey then i pull out my laptop and hook up crome pro
