Default EG Si need help Fast!

I gotta 93 Civic Si. It's been idling irractically since winter started. I took off the IACV off the intake mani and cleaned it out, but now it's idling even when the car is warmed up. I could be driving around for 2 hours and STILL it would be idling! Then we took off the TB and put on a new TB Gasket...thinkin' i had a TB gasket leak which it turned out NOT to be. We checked all vaccums too...funny thing it's doing too is that it'll warm up to mid range, but sometimes the needle will fall to Cold, then blow cold. WTF is up with that?
Im thinkin' thermostat....maybe the stats not opening all the way thus lacking coolant into the motor causin' it to idle...anyone else have this problem?!

Thanks in advance.

BTW it's not trippin' any codes either..

the thermostat is a good guess since the temp gauge is also irratic. might want to edit your post... you say that after driving around the car idles.... yea. all of our cars idle.... change the thermo.. only like $15 and its easy... just make sure to get all of the air out of the coolant system after you put it all back together..

My thermo was fine but the idle was still high after driving for an hour. I took the fast idle assembly apart and cleaned it. But I think I overtightened the valve because now when I cold start in the morning, it idles at 1krpm instead of the usual 1.5krpm or so.

Well...if 10 bucks of gas only gets yah bout 100k...i think it might be more then just an idling problem.

The car will self accelerate at times too...like if i downshift it just right and let off the gas, the car will stay at that certain speed and sometimes gain speed too. It started doing this after i fucked around with the throttle cable...hmm

As for the thermo, i think it might be because of the heat...what doesn't make since is that i took off the IACV and cleaned it out already. I know all of our cars idle, but not from 1k to 2k constantly. This ***** starting to annoy the **** outta me.

help!

if you messed with the thorottle cable... that is most likely your problem. my old 94 hatch.. wopuld sometimes idle high and get stuck at a higher idle.. the cable was too tight and wouldnt let off all of the way. sometimes causing it to stick. try ot put a little slack in the throttle cable and see if it helps any.
