EG: Short Shifter or Integra Shifter
I have this Short shifter, I have a 1994 honda civic cx with a D16 engine.
Should I use this short shifter or a integra one? (maybe a GSR shifter)
I have energy shifter bushings to use as well

The dual bend GSR shifter is supposed to make it sit back further so us taller folk don't have to reach as far for 5th. I didn't notice much of a difference so I went back to stock. I might put an OEM Teg shifter in eventually.

i'd use that short shifter.
it'll give you a shorter throw than a gsr or whatever.
and the shiftknob will sit straight, instead of at some wierd backwards angle

i have to disagree. the integra shifters have a longer base(where the bolt of the shiftlinkage goes throught the shifter). i have modified a gsr stock shifter by cutting off 1/4 inch off the base and use the stock civic filler onto the gsr shifter. also, another way to tell is by looking at a stock civic linkage(where the shifter and linkage meet) will not fit on the gsr shifter due to it being too short in width.
the gsr shifter in a civic is beneficial due to the shorter throw and dual bend. just remember that the gsr shifter sits higher than civic stock.
shorter throw not shorter height.

GSR shifters are very nice on a civic, still shorter then stock, cheaper to buy and OEM quality wont break on you. If not a GSR shifter go with a skunk2 dual bend(integra style) they sit alot nicer then the others in my opinion.

Re: (illusive)
I've got an ITR shifter in my car. I'd go with an integra shifter or skunk2 dual bend. ANYTHING else WILL break, stock and skunk2 are the only ones made from steel, all the others are aluminum and will break. They may last one day or one year, but it will break.

I feel like a broken record... BUT...
If you're breaking shifters... you shift your transmission too hard and should consider yourself lucky for not breaking something INTERNALLY... the d16z6's tranny has a weak shifter fork... if you're shifting hard enough to break the shifter you're DEFINATELY shifting hard enough to not only snap the shifter fork but probobly wear the crap out of your synchros' at the very least...
If my shifter was made of wood I wouldn't break it... take it easy on your tranny.
I've heard of some of the shifters being poorly manufactured so they're brittle but other than that... I can't see EVER breaking a shifter...

Re: (NonovUrbizniz)
all DC integra shifters are the same...i have a shifter from a 2000 LS. It is perfect, besides for a little custom fabrication, it is very easy to install as well. I'd definitely go with a stock integra dual bend shifter over a single bend generic short shifter...you will be much more satisfied

Re: (BauleyCivic)
i have a generic single bend in my 93 hatch
no probs with it yet
i also put it in backwards because i sit kinda close to the wheel
so now 1st 3rd and 5th are really far forward which makes it more comfortable for me too drive
