hi all, just a very quick question.

Does anybody know what the weight of a fully stripped Civic EG shell weighs, even if its roughly?

a full hatch ways around 2200-2300 pounds.
stripped down and empty your looking under 2000.

You should compare equally equipped trim levels of each body style and once you're done modifying whatever you get, get it weighed. There's a construction site by where a friend lives and there was a scale for big trucks.
A gsr swapped sedan, gutted was like 2100
a 1993 Toyota Pickup 4 wheel drive was about 3200lbs.

A full cx or vx eg hatch only weighs around 1800lbs dx is around 2000lbs and the si is around 2150lbs dunno where you got your info from thinkin they are 2200 to 2300lbs. Shell of a cx or vx is probably around 1500lbs to 1600lbs dx is probably 1800lbs to 1900lbs and si is around 2000lbs. You can check the honda factory specs just search it on google.

uhhhh im pretty sure you are crazy if you think a full weight vx or cx is 1800 lbs i know personally that a dx hatch full weight is 2180 lbs.the cx/vx i think is like 2050 lbs but idk check the FAQs there is a thread about this

so the entire engine/trans, interior, etc. weighs less than I do? Stop posting BS all over.

From past experience a gutted Crx with a d15 with all fluids weighed roughly around 1700lbs give or take.

thanks for the replies! that gives me a rough idea. im thinking the best way forward is to get it up and running then weigh it to be sure

So, a fully stripped interior, only a seat, a dashboard with components along with a single cam motor wont weight around 1900-2000 pounds? Lol, if a 1994 Honda Civic CX HB MT 2108 is at full weight with interior, motor, etc...
