EG rust problem *searched*
I'm in the market to buy a hatch, and I've noticed on several cars that are for sale that there is rust over the rear wheel wells. Is this a common problem with EG hatches? How would you go about fixing that damage?
I appologize if this is a newbie question, thank you.

It is a very common problem when driven on roads that have been salted for ice. I have it on both sides and the best fix is to replace the metal the rust is on. I am personally going to replace the entire quarter panel since I have other dents and damage. You can however just replace the metal that goes around the wheel well. And when you search hit the archived button because I know there are a lot of topics covering this.

Up here in the greater Northeastern salt belt (Rochester NY), its extremely common. My EG has it, as well as 3 other friends EGs.
Up here, its refered to as the Honda cancer.
The only good way to fix it is to cut out the rust and weld in new metal. its an expensive fix if done correctly.

Re: (vaypourus)
just bring it to a body shop, they can fix it w/o replacing the whole quarter panel. but if its rusted, get it replaced, od if you paint over it, the rust comes back eventually
