Eg Questions...?
I Plan on buying a 92 "Si" but the motor went so the guy replaced it with a "vx" motor.. the outside of the car doenst have any emblems or anything so i cant tell just by looking.. I know you can tell by the vin.. waht would be inside the vin to let me KNOW its a Si..
The vx is a 1.5 vtec-e.. its the economy vtec.. i know that there really good motors and last a LONG time.. my question is.. the valve cover doesnt say its a vtec-e.. i knwo ti could jsut be a different valve cover but is there a stamp on the block saying if its really a vx.. i know like right by the tranny on a da9 itll say "b18a" and on a gsr "b18c" on my vx what will it say.. "d15c"??

Re: (CodyC142)
i believe on the vin its the 4th number from the left. it should start with E but this is only the chasis code. check the engine code from the pics above.

The 4th, 5th, and 6th characters of the VIN will be "EH3" if it is an Si shell (i.e. the VIN should start with 2HGEH3 . . . ). If it reads "EH2," then it is NOT an Si.

Ths Si has 2HGEH3 in the beginning of the vin and the VX, CX, and DX will have 2HGEH2 in the beginning of the vin.

That's a good way. There are a lot of little things that are different. VIN is the best way. Rear discs were on Si's. Redline on the tach of an Si should be 7,200. All that stuff can be swapped in, but it's some dollars to do it all.
