EG Not starting after cap & rotor swap?!
92 si w/ 95 GSR.
I should learn to never touch my car if it's running well. Anyway, I decided to get crazy and swap in new plugs, cap & rotor. I put in the plugs, tested and it started fine. I put on the new cap and it started fine (Borg-Warner..I know, not OEM Honda..it was a holiday, and they weren't open). I'm kinda **** about testing each step of the way...
I played with the rotor...not forcefully...gave it a hand tug, and realized it wouldn't budge with light pressure, then grabbed my FSM and read about the retaining screw. Piece-o-cake I thought, so I cranked the engine a couple times till I could get to the retaining screw, took it off, put new rotor on (also BW), re-assembled, and it won't start. The rotor spins, but the engine just won't fire and turnover. I figured it had something to do with the BW rotor, so I put the OEM Honda cap & rotor back on with the exact same results! I'm going nuts...I must have taken it on and off 6 times hoping I would spot the problem...cleaned contact points, verified springs were functioning, etc.
Any clues as to what could be wrong?
take care,
Tec

Did that already, but it's right on the money. Thanks for the suggestion though...

Re: EG Not starting after cap & rotor swap?! (spooned out)
Well, in central PA there's not a bustling H/A community for me to swap a coil, but I did test it via the FSM.
My coil comes in at 9ohm when the spec is 12-18, so I guess I need to spend $60 to see if that's my problem. Here's to hoping! I'll keep ya in the loop. And if anyone in central PA has a 1.8 GSR coil they're willing to lend me, drop me a line
