Default EG maplights??

ok, search brought up nothing. i have a set of integra maplights i want to put into my EG. i am thinking of taking out that dumb little middle sun visors (i have a EX), and putting it there.

does anyone know which side the dome light wires are on inside the roof? i would just tap into those for power.

also will i have to take off the whole ceiling part to get to the wires?? looks kinda tough and i really dont want to **** up my ceiling. THANX!!!

No, they are taped to the roof also. If you want to tap into them
and run your own wires up the side peice (forgot the name, where
you put those sweet guage pods at). Cut the hole and you should
be able to get the wires up to the opening. The two wires are the only
two wires that go up the side peice on the drivers side.

There are probably more than 2 wires, you would be surpised. The antenna, dome light, sunroof, could be more, but when I did this on a 6gen there were more than a few wires running up the pillar. I installed a integra maplight in my '96 EX about a year ago, could be different for other models, but I figure it is the same for the most part.

I doubt there is enough room to install the maplight were the middle sunvisor is, best option is probably where the sunroof crank part is, if you don't have a sunroof, it may just be a open space there couldn't say without looking.

There is no room with the sunroof in there. Sorry, that little middle visor and the lump in the headliner is where the motor for the sunroof sits. Since you have the sunroof, the dome light wires are run on the left side (drivers side). There is a series of plastic clips that hold the wires in place and the wires are electrical taped around another set of wires for the sunroof (up the pillar).

I would really suggest you NOT cut a hole in your headliner for the map light, because there really is no room up front.

What ever happened to the EK maplights write up? I tried looking for it but I couldn't find it.

I suggest purchasing a new sunvisor for tesing purposes. You realize the maplight will stick out the opposite side of the visor correct because the visor is rather thin while the actual maplight backing is at least a 1/4 inch or more thick. In the 1992-95 Civic the wiring isn't the problem, more of the problem is going to be placement.
