Re: EG lip (moondoggy)
I heard the Type R lip sometimes fit weird. But they cost half of the OEM. Would it be a mix up if I have a spoon style EG (yellow paint, cf hood and wing and slipstreams) then I have a Type R Lip?

Re: EG lip (eg_ko_2)
yes, depending on how they're manufactured, some wont fit right. i had mine for cheap and it was a pain to install and i have to mad fit it.......if i knew this earlier, i would have paid more for a better fit.
from that configuration, i would personally go oem or mugen

Re: EG lip (moondoggy)
guess you are right moondoggy. i'll just stick with my spoon style EG and just go with OEM. i went to the dealer last time and the lip is for $80. Hardware is $70. Cant believe hardware is almost the same cost as the lip. Do you think I still need to buy those or just buy what ever screws I can find at HomeDepot?

Re: EG lip (eg_ko_2)
i think you would do fine by just buying the lip and find some screws and double sided tapes.....or you can always go to junkyards or ebay to look for used ones.....

Yeah, the Type-R style lips are almost half the price of a new OEM lip. Here's a pict for comparson....
Forget the fact that I wrote "Spoon-style" on there
The rest of the picts of the new lip is here: http://www.JDMshit.com/SpoonLip/

Re: EG lip (white994door)
you dont need to buy the honda hardware... in fact it is crappy.
just go to the hardware store and buy twelve 1/4"x1"long stainless steel bolts and locking nuts, and 24 washers... uder 10$ and will work better than stock clips and screws.

Yup... spend $3-4 on the parts from the hardware store instead of $2 per each piece (times that by 11...... I thought it was 11 mounting holes, and not 12, but whatever )
For the Type R style lip, all you need are 2 self-tapping screws on each side, and 2 in the middle for extra stability, if you want. It wraps on there and is a tight fit, but that's only so that it does not allow for any gaps. If it's too tight, hit it with the hair dryer on the ends for a few minutes to soften the plastic up. Either that or leave it out in the sun on a hot day and the lip will soften up just enough for you to manuever it onto your bumper.

That's exactly what I did (but you only need 11...there are only 11 holes). The EG lip is only $65 or so from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. That's where I bought mine. Or you can go search your local junkyard for an EG lip, but good luck finding one there. As for those "Type R" lips, I am not a big fan only because I have never seen one that fits perfect. I also think they look sorta weird on EGs cause they flare out kinda weird. I think either stock EG lip or Spoon/Spoon Style looks the best

It's Type R style. Like I said in my original post, ignore the fact that it says "Spoon-style" on it.
