Default EG Intercooler Setups

I was curious as to how some of you w/ eg's hacked you bumpers to accomodate your fmic's. I will be purchasing mine soon and would like some ideas on how I could make it looked appealing and not "hacked" up.

Thanks

Just buy a small enough FMIC that fits your car so you dont have to cut away any of the bumper. Also paint it black to make it look more stealth.

No, a smaller ic isn't going to work w/ the amount of hp it will be putting up with. As for painting it black, I never liked that too much.

you know what they say, once you go black, you never wanna go back.

but anyways, i prefer to keep mine silver and also intimidating. do not get a huge intercooler and have to gut away your bumper and bumper beam support. That is dumb.

Look into the JRC 6" or 8". The 8" will support 300hp atleast. My friend who has a Mustang GT is using the 8" JRC vortech supercharged at 10psi.

anyways, here's a 5" JRC on my EK. Fit was 99% perfect, I could have possibly saved the bumper grill, but oh wells, i want to intimidate ppl.

Still won't support it. I will be using a ic that can sustain 500hp at the least or if that fails might go w/ air/water setup.

you will have to hack somethings up. hopefully you can just cut a little off the back of the grill if you wanna keep that. usually anything over 6in will have to "modify" (didnt wanna say hack) your bumper support. and you will most likley have to trim the fog light holes some to get your piping nice and neat.
i just "trimmed" up my bumper support yesterday for my 9in tall ic. also had to take some off where the fog light vent was on the passenger side. I ended up cutting some of my core support cause i wanted to go right from the compressor to the ic without making the U-bend over where the windshield wiper resiviour is. I'll routing my intake down there.
hope that helps, i'll be taking pics later if wanna see them

just take your time..
make your marks and cut out cleanly to fit.
you will have to "modify" because if your planning on putting out that much power i really dont think cutting into your bumper support is gonna make you that unhappy if your puttin down mad hp numbers

I want to cut up my bumper no matter what, it doesn't matter to me if I do it. I just want it to look half way decent like some I've seen around here

well after you make all the cuts, just be sure to smooth everything out with some kind of sand paper or something so it looks clean. just don't take a rotozip to it and go crazy and you should be fine. and with 500hp, who the hell cares

and by the way what will be your setup, like you engine and how much psi, etc.

stock supra ic. should be good for close to 500hp,and you can fit it in front of the wheel...sleeper.

MK3 or MKIV?

The MK3 stock IC tends to get heatsoaked upwards of 400hp.
