EG headlight weight differences?
Does anyone know if there are significant weight differences between the OEM glass EG headlights and the cheap plastic OE replacement headlights. I'm looking to knock a little more weight off of the race car if at all possible. Thanks.

If that's the exact weight difference then yes. If it's more than that I'll be much happier.
I'm running out of cost effective weight reduction ideas at this point. About the only things left to do involve buying stupid expensive parts (Spoon Calipers and a titanium exhuast for example).

Compared to the $1300 I'd be spending on Spoon calipers I think that they'll work.
Does anyone have any exact weight figures?

I'm not sure of the exact weight difference. The JDM headlights are lighter because they cover is plastic as oppposed to glass.

If you're at the point where you're switching out lighter headlights, you might as well get the MB fiberglass front end, Seibon CF doors, and lexan windows as well. And don't think of having a dashboard, that weighs like 30 ****** pounds!
And if youre doing all that, youd better have a roll cage and be at the track, because you gonna die on the street like that....

Yes, in all honestly.. I highly doubt you're building a 'race car' with a fiberglass/carbon fiber body/etc. Stick with the OEM headlights, it's not going to make a noticeable difference.

OMFG you guys are all retarded. Kendall is building a race car and therfore very concerned about weight.
If you have nothing constructive to add stay the **** out of the thread.
Kendall, I don't know the answer but i'll be happy to weigh my EG headlights for you tonight if you'd like.

Then why not go with the MB fiberglass front end? Massive weight savings, no headlights.
The MB fiberglass hood (without supports) weighs 7lbs compared to the stock 36...
imagine what a whole front end would weigh compared to stock....

Amen.
Kendall what have you done thus far for weight reduction?
List it so I don't repeat stuff you've already done.
