EG Hatch + ITR 22mm rear sway + Beaks kit = Subframe damage?
Hey,
I'm gonna try and get an itr rear sway with a beaks kit. Has anyone actually had subframe damage that was caused by the itr rear sway even though you were running a beaks kit?

There are a couple posts where someone had subframe damage even with the BSRK. The only full proof set up looks like the ones where the bar mounts to a subframe brace like the comptech.

unfortuantely the pictures don't work anymore. but i have seen them and i remember Jackson posting them.
it really depends on how much work you're making the bar do. read: don't go lapping your car with stock like spring rates.

A beaks kit reinforces the subframe if you choose to install an OEM rear sway bar from a GSR or ITR. Basically it distributes the stress to a larger area that is put on the frame by the mounting points on the sway bar.

Re:
I think the reason why there are a few cases of sub-frame failure was because the installer just intalled it with a nut n the back side and no washer. With no washer on the backside the load would not be distributed as well withut one.

I had the BSQ kit(still do) on my GSR with H&R sports for years with no problems. Mmmm maybe 100 autox events and 20 or 30 track weekends at Sebring on RA1s with zero issues, not to mention 100k street miles. Now it is running 550 lb rear springs so the strain on the bar mounts is much less, but it never gave any trouble. I have a GSR sedan now as a daily driver with ITR springs and LSD, Koni yellows, and a 23mm JDM bar and it is also trouble free, even when beating the **** out of it. *shrug*

I could be wrong but I thought this was a more EG problem than EK.

Re: Re: (4potnick)
no your wrong.
the ek has the sway bar mounting holes more towards the edge.
the dc2 and eg are the same in terms of sway bar mounting.
most cases i saw of sub frame tearing out was on the ek. but there was a fair amount of eg who had it rip out also.
ek subframe is thinner then the ones made for a sway bar like the CTR those are alot stronger
