EG Hatch Design flaw?
So I have a leak in my hatch. It only comes when I am driving in the rain, meaning that its coming from below.
I ripped out my interior and I follow the water trail from the spare tire area, to both sides of the qp, up the rear wheel well, and down the place right behind the door and leaks under the black thing that rides under the car on both sides. I forgot the name atm.
Here are some pictures.
Right behind the door.
Going up the wheel well.
Going down the wheel well.
The spot where it pools up before it leaves to the spare tire compartment.
I'm assuming alot of other eg owners should be experiencing this leak. Or maybe I'm leaking because I am missing a piece? But this is happening for both sides for me. I would go about and welding or JB welding it shut but I'm not sure if it's the right way to go if there is a part that I should put there.
Input on how I should go about this and hopefully others with the same problem will chime in to this bs that I've been on and off searching for for over 3 months.

Sorry for crappy Blackberry pics. But you guys get my point.

yeah, rear wheel well rust does happen quite frequently. I'm going to clean and spray it down with some anti rust stuff and maybe block it off so water cannot get up so high.

Alright, if anyone doesn't know a good fix for this, I'm going to hose the inside down to rid of all the salts/dirts. Then I'll maybe use either jb weld or a seal maker to seal it up, maybe a combo of both?
I'll post pictures and it could possible be a diy.

I thought I was the only one that had this problem! Its only doing it on the pass. side on my car though.
Was thinking about spraying some truck bed liner in that compartment to prevent rust?

this needs to be renamed "honda Flaw"
every honda i have had leaked around the trunk, hatch area and into the rear fender area.
my hatch leaked behind the passenger tail light.
my 4 door leaked from the tail light and trunk weather stripping
all my coupes leak from the weather stripping.
you just gotta find the leak and fix it.
whether you have a bad spot in your weather stripping, or a bad tail light gasket. or like my hatch, they missed a spot with the seam sealer

It doesn't look like its a missed seam sealer. It looks like an opening for whatever, But I don't understand how water gets in when I have the black thing to go under my car, it covers that part. off to hose it down.

The problem you're having is definitely different from the one I had. Mine was leaking by the rear hatch glass along the side. Poorly seam sealed.
I can only suggest that you leave the quarter panel plastics off, let it dry out, then go at it from underneath with a hose. From the photos on your original older post it looks like it's running down along the .. hmm ... wheel well?? ... should be able to trace it back to its source. Post your progress.

Check where the inner fender well mates up to the quarter panel in the wheelwell.
For those looking for replacement inner fender liners, our body shop used early mustang ones and only had to do a small amount of work to make them fit. That was about 6 years ago.

Re: EG Hatch Design flaw?
where it mates? I put the rubber stripping back on there and it still leaks.
All I did was JB weld a wall halfway up the fender well on the inside so the water would not travel all the way.
I don't have time to do more than that as now it will just be sitting for awhile.
