Default eg hatch b20b - overheating

My first question, is my radiator fan suppose to be blowing hot air? And on very hot days what can I do to keep my engine cool so my car doesn't overheat and shut off? Any advice plz and thank you

Do you have an OEM thermostat installed correctly? Is it opening? Have you bled your coolant system? These are all basic things you should have told us in the original post.

Engines generate heat. Heat travels via the antifreeze in cycles. The thermostat is set for a certain degree and cycles coolant thru the engine. The hot coolant is cooled in the radiator via air coming in thru the grille and by the fan which should be a sucker and not a pusher. Short answer yes, your fan should be blowing hot air.

If you havent done this or had someone else do it, you should atleast take a gauge and check the quality of your coolant. Its a bulb squeezing tool and should tell you your temperature capabilities and its cheap at a parts store. Radiator fluid doesnt last forever and needs to be changed like any other fluid, just at different mileage levels. Good luck.

have you checked the coolant level? are there any leaks?

if you car is overheating bad enough to shut off, the engine could be permanently damaged.

when i had my b20v in my sol i had a similar problem but i never over heated to the point of shut off..just warmed up a lil more when i was in it but always cooled back down to running temp. i read a few places that it was due to improper air movement.
