EG hatch B16A vs. 03 Nissan Spec V
Sup people I'm fairly new to this site, so anyways I am an owner of a 95 VX with a B16 SIR2,Y21 Lsd trans, ACT stage 2 clucth, AEM CAI, Greddy PE exhuast, Random tech cat, chipped P28 ecu. Last night I ran my friend with a 03 Spec V w AEM CAI, and I beat him by 2.5 cars by the end of my 3rd gear. He averaged a 15.6 1/4 mile time. So I'm trying to figure out what I would run in the 1/4, by me beating him by 2.5 cars. I think every car lenght is .2 sec so maybe Ill run close to 15.1 but not sure, if anyone can help me thanks in advance

thanks for the info guys, the Fontana Speedway 1/4 mile street legal drags dont start to the end of FEB. I just wanna break into the 14's on street tires, yokohama's avs 100's with my current mods. I remeber a 91 DX hatch with an Ls/vtec setup with I,E on street tires ran a 14.8. And ran my friend with the Spec V,beat him by about 3 cars at the end of the 1/4 mile.

You should definatly be in the 14's. A stock EM1 (99/00 Si) runs around a 15.5 stock, and i know someone that ran a 15.1 with an AEM CAI, and the Si is a tank compared to your VX. With the weight and mods you have, you should be mid 14's, or better.

I'd say don't expect the 14s.
If your friend ran a 15.6, you'd run a 15.35 if you beat him by 2.5 cars.
1 car length = 0.1 sec in the quarter because
1 Civic length = 160 inches = 13.3 ft.
say you trap at 90mph
90mph = 132 feet per second
so 0.1 seconds = 13.2 feet = 1 carlength
so 2.5 cars = 0.25 seconds in the quarter
Basically look toward low 15s. I'd say don't go in expecting 14s, cuz chances are you'll be disappointed.

Hapa88 is right.. don't go expecting a time becuase you beat soemone with a certain time by certain car-length. That's what happend to my buddy.. go out there and have fun. Shoot for 14s, assuming your engine is tuned in, but don't expect it. If you hit 14.9 the first time, great, then try to keep it consistent. That's the key.. have fun. and good luck.

Re: EG hatch B16A vs. 03 Nissan Spec V (8krdline)
While your math is correct there you have to remember one thing. Who said he traps at 90 MPH? That was just a hypothetical factor in your equation. He should be trapping around 93 - 96 MPH. And the 2.5 carlenght victory was just a guess anyway.
You can break 14's if you have a good 60 ft time.

Re: EG hatch B16A vs. 03 Nissan Spec V (Hapa88)
The math looks correct but, I dont think .1 sec is = to 1 car length (13.3 ft), I've personally seen a 91 DX hatch run 14.8, and my friend with the 03 nissan Spec V ran a 15.7, and the hatch had him close to 4 civic car lengths, I have it on tape while I was at the end of the 1/4 mile track. I played it over a dozen times already..lol. So in your theory the hatch would have killed my friend by more than (8 car lenghts)....?????????????? This is weird

wrong forum ...
but anyway, i say driver... all driver.. can you put the power you have to the ground? work on the launch, try and get a low 2sec 60ft. with that, see what your baseline is, and make comparisons to the 99si, not the nissan. this is because of the similarities.. (motor!)...
99si = roughly 15.5
b16 hatch = ?
like everyone else... look for at least a low 15... work on the skills and good luck!
