Default eg ground hubs.

well i have a brake light short. it's not the switch, it's fully surpressed. the lights are staying on. so it's got to just need to be grounded. it doesn't blow fuses. nothing after market has been done to the car other than my stereo. no electrical mods are done just bolt ons. it's eg coupe.

edit;
and i meant to ask where the hub is for the ground for the brake lights. if there is one.

when you put the new switch on did you adjust the brake pedal properly because if it is out of spec it can cause the switch to contact and cause your lights to always be on

ok id try adjusting the pedal and seeing what happens cause what your problem is is that there is either one of 3 things going on either the switch is bad, the pedal is not adjusted properly or there is a short 2 power lets hope for one of the first 2 things

so i think i found the short. i put the fuse back in it's spot to try and trouble shoot then i remembered well when i open my trunk all the way open my radio doesn't turn off but you can't hear anything so i popped my trunk opened it all the way, brake lights turned off. so i'm like ok i probably blew a fuse. sure enough, so i look and the deck lid(trunk lid) hinges and on the drivers side hinge there is a group of wires that get smashed. tomorrow when it's light i'm going to try and move those wires from inbetween there and look for a open wire.
