Icon2 eg fog lights

I know this belongs in the lighting section but i have posted it with no luck, so her goes in the civic section. Hey guys im sure this topic has been covered several times before. well here goes, so i have a eg6 that i purchased a oe style fog light kit for. install was a breeze and followed the instructions and wiring diagram. the bulbs burnt out so i replaced them with some xenon bulbs the guy at the part store recommended. they worked great for about 2 days, then on my way to work i notices a bunch of smoke coming from my engine bay. I pulled over asap and turned off the car. All of the wiring for the fogs had melted, im just glad it didn't make it into the dash. So my question is what is the easiest way to wire up my lights. I want them to NOT catch fire or anything. A honda mechanic said just to wire them to my corners. anyone ever done this or suggestions?

Yes you can do this just make sure you run an inline fuse on the fog light side so that blows instead of the fuse box one. In case of anything. You also run the power wire into option d if I remember correctly in the fuse box search for diagrams of the fuse box.
