EG exhaust piping
im looking to put a 3" exhaust on my hatchback, and i was wondering if anyone knows if i can run a straight pipe over the rear LCA. my current piping has a little hump that goes over the LCA but it seems as if i could run a straight pipe and it wouldnt hit the LCA. if anything it might sit on it but it doesnt seem like it'd be in the way.
so i was wondering if anyone has any information on this matter. thanks

Thermal makes what your looking for. Unless your doing a diy project.

Re: EG exhaust piping (_BEN_)
yeah im trying to piece the exhaust together myself
see that little hump before the muffler....i was wondering if it would go over the LCA if there wasnt a hump and it was straight instead. also using 3" piping.

Hey check this out, this is a full DIY 3" cat back much cheaper than Thermal. They have the stainless setup for $215 but the mild-steel is a little cheaper. Check it out:

Jack your suspension up to max travel and make sure the pipe isn't going to hit anything. I've never seen anyone do a straight pipe over the axle like that, so I can't give you a solid answer but I'm pretty sure you'll still have a small hump.
If you don't want a lot of bends, go under the gas tank/rear subframe.

i think it would be impossible for it to go straight over the lca. there is just to much stuff in the way it would have to bend at the least slightly.

ditto. that bend is there for a reason, if you try to go straight through there(can you even go trhough that spot with a 3" pipe?) you'll probably smash it with the LCA
