Basically EH2 is the 1992-1995 CX, DX, and VX hatchback while EH3 is the 1992-1995 Si hatchback chassis code.

EG can be many different things depending on the following number.

EG2 is a Del Sol
EG9/EG8 is a 4-door
EG6 is a SiR or SiRII B16A powered hatch that was never offered in the U.S

There are plenty more, but you get the idea. EG is commonly said around here to describe most 1992-1995 Civics regardless of whether it's really an EG or not.

I still like to say EH2 or EH3 for those who want to be really technical. This way you know if I'm talking about a USDM Si or non-moonroofed models.

In my neck of the woods, we get eg1,2,3,4,5,6,8 and 9.
EG1= del slo vxi
EG2= del slo sir
EG3= civic mx h/b
EG4= civic eti h/b
EG5= civic vti h/b
EG6 = civic sir h/b
EG8 = civic vti 4 door
EG9 = civic sir 4 door
EH1 = civc lxi 4 door
EJ1 = rhd u.s made civic coupe

Don't ask me what happened to EG7 in the numbering...

Whats the difference between an EG and EH? I have an EH2 by the way but thought it was an EG till I checked
"EH" is the US chassis code for all US 92-95 hatchbacks and some sedans.

The origin of the "EG" hatchback series is the chassis coding mainly used for 92-95 civic hatchbacks in Japan only. The "EG" series in the US mainly revolves around 92-96 Delsol and some 92-95 sedans (4door) civics.

Whenever you see EG-6 (SiR/SiRII) or EG-4(VTi) for instance, the number is letting you know the model/make breakdown, of the hatchback/sedan/delsol or which ever chassis at hand.

A lot of online (and offline) people use "EG" as common ground terminology for all of the 92-95 civic hatchback/delsol/sedan line up, just because its easier to categorize the 92-95 civics as "EG" since there's soo many damn models, whether it be US or JDM; and Honda's orginated in Japan anyways and a lot of us like to stick to the OG chassis code which is "EG"; this applies to other year'd Honda's as well (like EF, EK, etc).

This chassis code nicknaming caught on a couple years ago from the JDM world. Car people in Japan usually refer to cars through their chassis coding. The sphincter (****) people here in the US like to use the term "EH" when referring about anything related to a US 92-95 civic only, but that can get confusing since there are soo many variables with JDM and US 92-95 civics that most just simply revert back to the good ol "EG" terminology..lol.

So, you can say you have an "EH" or "EG" civic if you wanted to, but it really doesn't matter; some people like to call their US 92-95 civics w/b16a swap an "SiR" or "EG-6" even though its a US civic chassis with a JDM engine. This pisses some online people off because it's not a true EG-6 ..haha... a true EG-6 is right hand drive (from the factory, not converted) and has all the small little JDM goodies an EG6/SiR would come with. With some Honda enthusiast who've been around a while; they can tell a smell a Honda newb from a mile away because newbs tend to claim "I have an EG-6 civic" and all they did was drop a B16A in. You can see how it can get ugly with the **** chassis-code crowd

...sorry if this info seems redundant and already said...
