My friend has a eg coupe and he has a b16 swap second gen i know that most of the time for these swaps you either use a p28 or p30 ecu i have a p30, but the problem is he doesn't know what ecu he has because the barcode is taken of for all he knows he could be running with his single cam ecu. When the swap was done he was told that they had hooked him up with a skunk2 program? could this be that they hooked him up with a program for his single cam ecu and no he never took his ecu back when he got the swap done. SO my question is there a way you can tell what ecu one has without looking at the barcode?

What ecu did he have in the car before the swap?
Does he have an ex model because if he does than he can still run that computer . has your friend tried redlining the motor because skunk2 programs redline @ 9000 rpms. And by the way a P28 is a single cam ecu.

dohc vtec ecus have an extra circuit board in them for the knock sensor. there should be a full size board (same size as the case) and an extra 1/4 size board on top, attached witha ribbon cable (knock sensor board)

ok well i believe he has a 94 civic coupe ex and for some reason his redline is only till 7500 rpm before he has to shift and shouldnt he be able to take it up to 8 or 8200 since it is a b16.
