Default Eg DX vs. CX

Hey, I have a ? for some exp. honda folks out there. I was wondering what makes the CX lighter than the DX? I know the dx has a rear wiper is there any thing else that it has that the cx doesn't and is the the reason(motor weight)?
A good logical answer is very appreciated,
Thank you,
Jason

difference isn't that great. i believe the dx is only like 75 lbs. heavier, or something like that. main differences i can think of are minor differences in the interior likethe tilt wheel, and cargo cover. i believe the dx also has more sound deadening material as well.

not what he was asking, and besides you're wrong. the vx was the lightest. anyway, OP has already been answered. nothing more to say.

actually no. read again the thread above, and besides, i believe the cx weighs 2108, not the 2094 listed. either way, the above thread doesn't prove me wrong anyhow, as it lists an identical weight.

thanks for the useful post though. you're an idiot.

It also depends on years too I think. Like 94-95 VXs came with passenger airbags and A/C (optional or not w/e).

It doesn't really matter though. As long as you don't have an Si you're fine

quite possibly. regardless, the OP's question had been answered to the best of everyones ability, and that one response was useless.

I think the CX and VX are the same weight, you people are just looking at numbers in a book. I do know the si hatch is freakin heavy, heavier that the 92-95 civic coupe. I heard the USDM DX (Canadian CX) is heavier because of the extra tar on the bottom of the car. For example, just because the type r engine is rated at 210hp(book number), doesn't mean its puting that much out to the flywheel. It depends on the builder (Honda Engine Builder) and materials used to build the type r.

Actually I guess I'll dig up the scanned page in the actual Honda Civic manual that I was referencing when I posted those CORRECT weights for 1992.

Other years may have different weights listed, but I didn't misread or mistype the 2094lbs. official curb weight for both the 1992 CX and Vx models - it was straight from the gosphel source, Honda.

i don't dispute your post in anyway, shape or form. the figure i have could have been for later years. i was simply stating that your post of the identical weight didn't prove me wrong, as was posted by somebody above.
