Default Eg coupe/hatchback main floor harness plug C590 (PIC HEAVY!)

Hello afain! With some help from a member here I have fixed my tail light issue and now I'm on to my next issue. Can anyone tell me what the name of this plug is and can anyone lead me in the right direction to get a wiring diagram for a 1995 ex coupe pinnout and a 1992 cx hatch pinnout? I used a complete ex coupe harness in my car as wires were cut all over from front to back, and while I was at it decided to add the power options from my coupe donor shell, the whole harness works front to back now but I need to depin and relinquish the coupe harness to work with the hatchback tailgate harness so I don't blow fuses.
Again any help would be highly appreciated! I just can't find diagrams myself without atleast knowing what the plug is called to start with.

How many pin plug 20 or 25?

The 93 ETM doesn't differentiate between sedan, coupe or hatch in their pictures so just a picture of the plug location isn't definitive.

I'm assuming that's on the side wall behind the drivers door where the seat belt of the drivers side seat belt runs on a hatch?

After piecing together the 20 pin plug, I'm pretty sure it's the rear lights and rear wiper plug and also the trunk/hatch indicator.

Plug C590.

If you could count the wires in the plug, how many pins the full plug is as well as provide the wire colors of all the wires in the plug, I can piece it all together for you with pictures of the ETM pages.

Okay thank you. I am not home so the detailed information will come after 6pm PST once I am home.

That is the C590 20 pin connector, rear harness to rear harness connector.

It appears that it is the harness for the rear lights, trunk/hatch sensor and the rear wiper of the hatch.

Thank you TomCat39, after upon further examination and trial and error, I was actually able to depin and reconnect the harness to work 90% but it is the rear cargo area harness, I got all the lights to work as they should, I do not have a rear wiper so eliminated that. The only thing I did not get to check was the trunk/hatch sensor and the defroster as I had to go back to work, but as of right now I just need to come home and test the hatch sensor and the rear defroster. I also don't have rear speakers so that eliminated 4 of the 13 wires, but I set them aside as I would like rear speakers down the road lol. But if you can shoot me the trunk sensor colors and the defroster color that would be greatly appreciated!

The rear speakers on the hatch are already in the side wall taped to the harness there.

I guess you could use those thinner wires for a sub but I doubt that is advisable when comparing to the wires I ran for my sub.

Also, I will provide all the details I can including the ones you already did for any future searchers that may come across your thread.

Cheers

Oh no that's not what I mean at all, I actually don't have rear speakers at all, the trim pieces were they are supposed to be are solid, so one day I was going to get speaker pieces to replace them then add speakers. I'm not fond of chopping them up for them

The hatch has grill inserts to replace the solid inserts on the rear seating side walls.

Since you are using the EX harness, those speaker wires are not run the same as they are normally run in a 5th gen hatch.

The speaker wire usually pops out in the side wall beside the seat. You have to reach down into the hole, feel for the harness and there is a 2 pin plug for the optional hatch rear speakers taped to the harness. You coupe harness won't have that.

To do the rear speakers properly, you will have a touch of wire rerouting and maybe some extending.. Also you would want to go to the junk yard and get the plugs normally found in the side walls.

If your hatch rear harness is stock you should have the passenger side rear speaker plug wire still taped to the harness.

Sorry for the delay. Life happened when I got home.

Interestingly enough, the ETM says all the wires on the EX are also present on the Hatch plug C590. I suspect that would only be true of maybe the SI Hatch.

I also don't see how it claims all four speaker wires are in the C590 plug in the manual. I can see two of them being there to run all the way around the back end to end in the passenger rear seat side wall....

Also of note, the pin's for the speaker plugs themselves are reverse between the Hatch and the other makes. 1 is 2 and 2 is 1 for both the left rear and right rear speakers.

Also the dots don't mean anything in the ETM, I suspect that was coding more for the wire harness assembly itself on their wire harness assembly board.

The other thing to note, unlike almost every other connector in this book, this connector does not give pin numbers for the wires!

This does cause a bit of confusion as the Hatch has a Green/Black that is the reverse lights, as well as one that is for the Rear Wiper Motor. Being you said your hatch doesn't have the rear wiper motor, I suspect your only green/black wire is the reverse lights.

coupe:All these colors are the same for Hatch/Coupe/Sedan. Differences are in the plug numbers after C590.

Also of note, the Red/Blue on the front side of the connector is the main power distribution wire that runs all the way to C556 on the dash fusebox.

Oh, I should note, there is no grounds going through C590. This plug appears to be all power distribution part of the harness. The grounds are located in other parts of the rear harness.

^ Not sure what you mean by this.

Also, no cruise control wire goes to the back. GRN/BLK definitely reverse lamps in OP's case especially since he has no second GRN/BLK since no rear wiper.

What I mean is the red blue of C590 on the side of the harness that runs to the front of the car is on the power distributions sheets and goes to the under dash fuse box connect C556. It doesn't go from power through switches, relays or motors. I believe one of the other wires also comes from power but runs through a motor or a relay before getting to the back of the vehicle so is excluded from the power distribution sheets.

Cruise Control Green/White is from the cruise control part of the brake pedal to activate the brake lights when cruise control applies the brakes.

It's actually a brake light wire for both left and right brake light, but it IS part of the cruise control system.

As for the Green/Black wire(s) and the lack of pinouts of C590 in the ETM, I am thinking of looking at my hatch as I have both the rear wiper and the reverse lights.

I also am planning on taking pictures of all the pages and posting them to this thread. I just ran out of time with looking it all up late last night.

OK, I see the misunderstanding: Cruise doesn't "apply" the brakes. The brain only operates the throttle mechanically. But it "reads" when the brakes are applied in order to disengage itself.

RED/BLU passes through fuse 19 which in turn was connected to the headlamp switch (the running/parking lights), just like RED/BLK.

I'm not convinced you're reading the wiring diagrams completely correctly.

Could be. I'll let you all be the judge once I have the pages put up.

I think the Red/Blue is spliced after fuse 19 so one leg to the switches you indicate and the other leg runs straight back to C590.

I'm pulling this from mental memory images from last night when I was rather tired looking at page after page.

You were correct, in my tired state, I saw cruise control as the Green/White is shared if the car has cruise control. I fixed the labeling. The non Green/White wires that go to the brake lights are for the low illumination side (running lights) now labelled Brake Light Low. The Green/White is the Brake Light High and runs from the pedal to the lights as well as splits to the cruise control circuit if it's present. But as far as C590 goes, it's the Brake Light High (brake pedal depressed).

The only part I can't seem to pull from the book is the hatchbacks with both rear wiper and reverse lights. For that I'm going to have to physically look at my car and I don't see myself in any hurry to rip out the back plastic interior to get to it anytime soon.

Pages and pics to come shortly.

Tonight I also missed one wire in the power distribution sections that goes to C590. The White/Red wire goes from Fuse 3 to C590.

I can provide the pics sideways but in a larger state if the following ones are too small to read clearly.
