nice find, my ej1 came with one, but like yours doesnt have an ashtray, just the cupholder insert. i prefer the hole being there tho so i can drop small objects like change or carmex into it without having to pull out the insert while driving. they are fairly rare, how much did u pay? seen em go for 140 before.

as for the prelude ashtray working, not sure, but judging by the notches and lines on the cup holder insert and that prelude ashtray it should slide in. may be a lil too deep for the 5th gen honda optional armrest tho, they are tiny on the inside lol.

IIRC, the EG armrest delete ashtray will work in that console. I have a bunch...lmk if you need one...I'm about ready to toss them.

The ashtray itself. I believe the ashtray likes to pop out easily if you try to use it, but if you just pop it in the empty space on your new amrest and leave it alone, it looks perfect.

Yeah they are getting rarer and rarer but are still out there... even Honda dealers on Ebay have them. I got mine black with the extra cushy cushion for $84.43 from Majestic BNIB. P/N 08U89-SR0-110A. I'm 6'3 with monkey arms and the elbow to hand/shift ratio is perfect. Your right on the tinniness... If anybody needed a bigger cubby they would need to go to the long armrest unless you have an amber din for that extra stuff.

The square hole and tabs do look like that line up and it just looks like I'm going to have to purchase one and test it out. There are no Preludes but 83-94s in the yards right now. P/N 77750-S30-A01ZA

Lmao im 6'3'' also with gorilla length arms i kno it positions a long arm perfect for shifting, the cushy pad is hella nice on the elbow.

Lol the optional 5th gen armrests came in a few styles, and the black/grey cloth one has a really dense foam under it that is perfect on the elbow.

The ashtray does not fit, it is too big and bluky but the depth would be shallow enough if it did

Go back and read my earlier post. Try swapping the rear ashtray from your parking brake console into the armrest. I'm pretty sure it fits.

No, I think we have a misunderstanding. The ashtray fits into the rear of the console (these ship without ashtrays for some reason only known to Honda). It does not fit into the little cup holder. That is a cassette holder. Very useful in 2012.

They did this b/c the ashtray from the delete console is swapped in to the armrest - and reused. Saves $$.

I guess that makes sense. Unfortunately, the armrests were only available in grey or black when I bought mine new from Honda. I had a blue interior...guess how good my blue ash tray looked in that black armrest console?
