Default Eg climate control

Okay to start I dont want to hear flames about how i should just ghetto fab it and paint the bulbs. I know i need to change the faceplate from the JDM climate control to the USDM one. My question is how do i disconnect the sliders from that copper colored piece. Any help would be appreciated.

The sliders are connected to the copper piece...if we are both talking bout the same piece. When pulling the faceplate off, just push the end of the slider up and off the groove that it slides on. Hope this helps....I learned to do it the hard way, after breaking mine.

You're talking about the slider button right? The whole slider and button can't be removed from the face plate...or at least I don't think it can be. The slider and button come off with the face plate.
