EG - A/C Lines...removal?
Any of you EG owners removed your AC and all of the lines?
I am having problems removing the two lines that run along the passenger side of the engine bay and then dip under the battery and fuse box. I am assuming they head through the firewall but can't find them on the other side.
Basically, I'm trying to tidy up and they are in the way.
Any tips or tricks?
TIA

Here's a thread that says it takes about 20 minutes to remove everything.
There are no pics though. When I get my swap I'll be removing the a/c as well and will post pics of all the wires and stuff

Well - it's true.. it doesn't take that long but I just wanted to know if there were any tricks to removing the lines that go under the battery tray?

you can remove the battery tray. its held in by i think 2 10mm bolts. its not very hard to do. i took my whole ac out in 30 min without doing it prior on any other car. remember to pull the fuse too when doing so

Hey Delslow - when you remove the battery tray is there another connection there to remove the piping?
Does the piping continue through the firewall?
Where to is end? Where can it be disconnected easily?
TIA

just look for the one bolt that is holding the two lines to the firewall once that is removed pull the aluminum block in the firewall and lines out together(they are one piece) and then its done just leave the ones under the dash its pretty easy just might have to bend in weird ways to get the bolt out

Are you talking about removing the whole AC unit? Or just the under the hood parts? Becasue removing the whole thing is the best way to save weight.

Thanks FF, that's what I needed to know.
Flat-Black - that will be next...but I need to wait until it is warmer. I was in a non-heater garage in -20...so I wasn't very motivated. Dam Canadian Winter!
