EG A/C dosent work on "4" setting
I have a B16 swapped 93 eg and the a/c works but only on the 1-3 settings. When I switch it to the 4 setting it stops blowing completely. I tried the search engine and nothing showed up, has abnyone had this problem or have any idea what it is?

Re: EG A/C dosent work on "4" setting
you guys should have done the searching on the thread you just gave him
its NOT your blower resistors, when you look at the diagram in the thread they gave you, the wire that connects to the "4" setting on climate control is separate from the blower resistors. "1,2,3" settings working should have told you that the blower resisters work
there is an open in the blue/black wire in the diagram

while its not impossible, but typically uncommon, a bad wire could be the problem,
the climate control unit would most likely be the cause but dont quote me on that

I will give it a try in the morning, and post result
I found the wire, it runs into the same plug as the resistor, I wiggled it around and still no 4, i guess im going to pull the dash apart in the morning.

Ok so apparently it is a massive pain to get the control unit out, I all but destroyed an eg in the junk yard trying to remove one with no success. Thannk god I didnt try to do it on my own car. Is there a link on here for the proper procedure for removing it from an eg. It seems the yard didnt even want any part in getting it out

Re: EG A/C dosent work on "4" setting
I am still trying to get the unit out so i can try to ground the wire. I followed the FAQ to get the control unit out and it seems like there is somthing besides the 3 scres and cable holding it in.

Re: EG A/C dosent work on "4" setting
Got it out and FYI for anyone who has fan control problems and it is not the resistor, it is probably this speed selector thing that the arm on the front of the climate control unit goes into. It is its own separate peice that pluggs into the back of the climate control. Also if you look real close you can see discoloration of the prong for the "4" setting(it is upside down in this pic, so lower left) and that is where the short is. It got so hot that the plastic is all distorted and semi melted.

Re: EG A/C dosent work on "4" setting
And is definatly the issue, I would have had it all back together today, but a previous owner snapped off the little cable guide and retainer under the unit and it was only held on by epoxy. Sooo I have to buy another control unit anyways.
