EG with B18C1: Shift Shaft Seal Leak
I have a '92 EG with a B18C1 that's seen about 45,000mi. When I purchased the car the seal was leaking so I replaced the seal and boot. I checked it daily. After day 5 she was leaking still the same. Is there a sealant I should apply to the oil seal before installation? Or a proper method of installing to retain the seal? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brandon

Shift Shaft doesn't appear to have any imperfections, and the boot had no rips. I pushed the seal half way in, then seated the boot behind the lip on it. Then I tapped her in flush till she dead stopped. It was a very tight fit so I'm not sure where the leaks even coming from.

has anyone ever experienced this problem? Or perhaps I am not installing it properly? The Service Manual did not indicate any extra sealants to use or a certain method of installation. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
