eg"6"?

does anyone know what is up with the eg"6" and eg"9"? do these numbers actually stand for something or is it just some stupid japanese thing to get us yankees to think?

E doesn't mean hatch. I have an EJ1, which is a coupe. I think they're just some random codes that Honda made up.
