Default EDM D-Series stroke to 1.6 liter

I have a 97 Civic Hatchback with a D14A3 motor. Since parts are very hard to find in Germany I think if it would be possible to stroke the 1.4 liter motor to 1.6 liter. Can I use rods, pistons and the crank of an USDM "DX" or "EX" model? Please give me some opinions on that if it is possible.
By the way... I cant buy the parts in Germany. 75% of the Civics sold from 96-98 have the D14

Buy a USDM D16Y8 and have it imported for "race use."

The 1.4 UK motor is the same as my one. I have the "basic" upgrades like header/exhaust, AEM CAI, Accel Ignition wires. Meanwhile I think that it would be cheaper to buy a complete D16Y8. I have to check out how much the shipping costs are to Germany.
I can´t afford a B-Series swap, the last one who make me an offer for a B18C4 wants over 4500 Euros.

From what I understand, the D14 shares main and rod journal sizes with the USDM HF engine - so you might could stoke it to a 1.5 L!? If you are going for displacement, import a D16Z6 or Y8. I would be easier, with better results.

But, I have seen that 1.4 put out some nice numbers - like was said there is a guy that frequents this board putting out like 200 gross hp with the D14. If only I could remember his username...

My $.02

I can get you a complete B16A2 swap for around $2000, maybe a little more, oh yea, in Germany. You don't want to try to import it from the states anyway, my friend was trying to import a Nissan motor and it got kicked back by Customs three times because it wasn't completely clean and dry.

u might wanna consider a tranny swap that will help u out alot since i'm sure your tranny is the same as the dx tranny here. i'm not too sure since yours is in another country but if your intake manny is the same as the y7 than i would think that the tranny would be the same as well.

I remember a guy from Austria who puts on a turbo kit on the 1.4. the result was nearly 200 HP. He wrote it on a German forum. The problem is that I want to keep it street legal. The cops can pull me over just because of the Cold Air Intake you can get into serious trouble. They can even shut down the car... <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by sohc_boy &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">u might wanna consider a tranny swap ....</TD></TR></TABLE>
What benefits can I expect if would swap the tranny? My intake manifold is the same as the Y7. Meanwhile I have figured out some data of the 1.4 the bore is 75.0 and the stroke is 79.0 (the Y7 is 90.0)
But my question is: will the Y7/8 pistons and rods fit into my 1.4 and do I have to change the crank? I have searched on Ebay and found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...70718
Any opinions on this?

if your car is running th y7 tranny it has very long gears as compared to a y8 tranny's, on average the y8 tranny will take 1/2 a sec off of the y7 tranny's times. i have a 99 hatch with a y7 and i swapped my tranny for an ex (y8) tranny and the difference is very noticeable, makes the car alot more fun to drive. over here u can find a used ex tranny pretty cheap, since u seem to be on a budget i'd do that 1st if u decide to stay with the d-series. i'm not too sure on the internals of that motor so i really can't help u there.
