Which ECU should I get for my car????
Hey guys, I have a 93 Civic DX coupe with a OBD0 B16a/GSR tranny in it. The harness is a spliced Ex Sohc Vtec harness and the car is running on a p28 ecu. I cant hear vtec crack at all while inside the car and I have been told its because of the ecu. Ive been told the P30 is good but then someone else told me to go with a PW0. Which one should i get for the car and where can i get one? Right now the car has bolt ons (intake, header, high flow cat, axle back exhuast). I am new to hondas as I just picked this up from a friend to use as my new DD. Thanks in advance for any info. -Dennis-

PW0 is OBD0, P30 is OBD1, and both are very similar. Don't worry about the sound VTEC makes, it doesn't make your car any faster, and you are likely to be flamed for saying that.
P28 is also very similar, uses the 16 degree stock timing that the B16's use, fuel trim will be a bit different, but the ECU can adjust fuel trims +/- 20% to make up for that.
Getting a PW0/P30 reflash would leave you basically with either of the two ECU's I just mentioned.

you know if you ecu is not chipped than a check engine light can cause the vtec not to kick. or if your speed sensor isnt running it also wont work. if your ecu is stock then go find someone to chip it for you. P28's are awsome ecu's. i've been trying to find a chipped one but got ripped off on ebay for a P06. so just chip your ecu and you'll love it.
chipping disables the knock sensor and the speed govner so you vtec is more consistant.

Ok here is the deal, the check engine light IS on. The kid i got it from had a V-AFC in the car and removed it and now its on. I didnt wire the car but when he had the V-AFC in the car you could hear it crack pretty loud but like i said i just bought the car. The car kinda impresses me for what it is. It spins, not chirps going first into second and chirps third pretty hard as well.
