Default ECU removal ?'s

If you remove your ECU for any period of time, will it lose all the settings inside or mess anything up? Does it keep all the settings by constant power from the battery? Do you need to reset it everytime you hook it back up? thanks all!

Just removing it will reset it. You don't have to reset it anymore than that. It won't mess anything up.

The fuel and timing maps and everything else inside your computer is written into the ECU itself. You can take the computer out and put it on a shelf for ten years and it will still function the same as it did when you took it out. Don't worry about leaving it unplugged for long periods of time.
