does any one have a list of the ecu programs and what they do?

I'm doing a full N/A build on my ODBII D16Y8 (11.0:1cr, Crower Stage II Cam, upgraded fuel system, all the bolt-on's in the world, etc). I'm in the market for a p28 that's programmable with crome or uberdata. Should I get a virgin ecu and chip it myself so I know it's compatible w/ crome and uberdata, or should I just get a pre-chipped? How can I tell whether or not a pre-chipped ecu can be tuned with either progam? Will the tuning power of a chipped ecu and an AEM adjustable cam gear be all that I need to tune my setup?

...Or, can I just make due with my stock OBDII ecu?

p28 for sure.

150$ can get you a p28 chipped.

If I get a chipped p28, can I just take it in to get tuned at the dyno? I won's have to get the crome software or do any tuning myself will I? I live in the souther SF Bay Area. Are there any local tuners that will program my chipped ecu with their own software?

if you dont want to deal with crome, dynospot racing in san jose is an authorized hondata dealer and tuner

what would be the advantage there? i thought they both did generally the same thing, hondata's just more expensive. what will i have to buy to get a hondata tune at dynospot?

they do nothing but put rev limits in ridiculous places and lots of fuel and ign advance.

yes there are tons, and they all are the same to us, worhtless. in some cases they can make a fair base map to start tunning with.

Those are the biggest wastes of money on the face of the planet. All they do is dump a massive amount of fuel

Best thing to do is just get a chipped P28 and have someone who knows how to tune with crome do it. Get Chris Harris to do it. (xenocron). In a nutshell, he uses all of his own equipment, you drive while he tunes, he saves the settings on his laptop, burns a chip and just puts that chip into your ECU. He charges $200 for a street tune for like 2 hours I think. Tomorrow he's dynoing my car.

well if you're not familar with any of the programs, how exactly do you plan on tuning? do you have a wideband? do you know how to adjust settings with timing and a/f on hondata/AEM? Or are you the type thats gonna get a VAFC and put your vtak at 2000rpms?
