ECU Help from you gurus for my D16... p08 yes? no?
*DELETE*
Ok new question....Can I use a p08 ecu on my D16y8 (have the conversion harness) just wondering because the p08 came off a JDM D15B and I think it was 3stage vtec.

the obd2 d15b has 3 stage vtak. youd be better off using the stock ecu for a stock motor. the d15b is a 1.5 anyway and youll run lean

It is the obd1 jdm d15b@130whp as far as I know I did a lil research but could be wrong......so I was told it would run a lil rich and is an all around good ecu, its already socketed but I can still run the stock map was just wondering if it would work....neither motor is stock

hmmm i wouldnt wanna mess with running a 1.5 3 stage vtec ECU on a 1.6 single vtec.... just get the correct ECU for your car and you will have better performance from the get go.

is a P2P a jumper harness?? if he runs the P28 he will need the obd2 to obd1 jumper harness to work with that ECU.

no a p2p is the correct 96-00 ecu for a obd2 d16y8 engine, not a jumper harness. i guess if he already is running the d15 ecu he has the harness, but i would get the p28 or the p2p

LOL i dont know jack about OBD2 ecus. I stick with OBD1 for emissions and tuning purposes.. just easier and better.

i am definitly gonna have to agree there. obd2 sux. they got like 5 or 6 new sensors and u can get like i think 95 check engine codes as opposed to the obd1 23 codes

sweet....Ive been looking at obd1 socketed (interchangeable chips)ecus online because I am having air fuel issues. Im running obd2 stock ecu right now and it runs ok but much better when it is running closed loop. Does anyone know what pins on the ecu harness you use to check the o2 signal voltage with a meter?
