Default ecu and harness question

i got b16a2, and i want to swap to a 92 vx , ok i want to keep obd2
because i want to leave it like it was in my 2k SI ,
but some one is telling me that I need a 92-95 ex harness
and a p28 or p30 ecu is this true?
because i thought i could just keep my 2k civic si ecu and use the same
harness. someone plz enlighten me

Why leave it obd2? So you can install another 02 sensor? And get more check engine lights?

Waste of time and effort IMO.

You can use a EX/Si engine harness and add wires or you can find a 96-01 GSR engine harness or a 97-01 Type R engine harness and it's plug and play in your VX, and plugs into your 99-2k B16A2 dist, and sensors. You will have to add a couple of wires from the ECU to the passenger shock tower, but that's all.

Then either chip the P07 (your stock ECU) or get a chipped P28, or a stock P30 and call it a day.

If you need the ECU work done, PM me.

well i was doing some search and i came across this

This jumper allows you to adapt
a US or JDM 99-01/OBD2 ecu into a 92-95 civic/delsol/or integra vehicle. ...

http://www.jdmhondaparts.com/jumper_obd1-obd2.2.htm
could i just use this?

one reason why i want to keep obd2 because i took the swap out of my crashed up 2k civic si , so i just wanted to use the stock ecu the motor came with , and i dont want to buy other ecu , i am kinda tight on money right now , so could i just use that ecu jumper , and call it the day?

Again WHY????

You still have not given a good reason as to WHY you want to keep OBD2.

And you say money is tight? How much do you think that harness is going to run?? I've already told you you can have your Stock VX P07 ecu chipped to DOHC specs, but you must have missed that.

I guarantee you the harness you want to buy is more than I charge to re-chip your P07 ecu.

But hey, it's your money, do what you like.

some people call it naive....

if you went the obd1 route you will have less problems and it would cheaper for you. that is what he has been tryin to tell you the whole time.

obd1 it is then, now my question is could i use my stock vx harness and distributor from my vx? and get my stock vx ecu chipped, or get a p30 or p28, i talked to this guy at a shop he told me to get a 91 crx si harness and get a 91 crx si distributor, and get a p30 or p28 ecu could that work?

No, your VX dist will not fit on a DOHC.

You need a 96-01 GSR engine harness or a 97-01 Type R engine harness and you can use your stock B16A2 99-00 Si dist.

You can however, use your stock P07 ecu as I have explained before, and chip that.

I thought you were on a budget?

Oh, and whoever told you to use a 91 CRX engine harness and dist is an idiot.

oh yeah , i think he told me to use 91 crx si harness and distributor
and get a p30 so i can have non obd , which he said it had less sensors
and will get less cel's ,
i would rather go the route your telling me ,
get 97-01gsr or 97-01 typeR harness, and get a p07,p30,or p28 chipped

You were on JDMHondaparts before....why didnt you click on engines, click on engine FAQ, and click on the question "Q: I have an OBD1 equipped Honda/Acura; How do can I make an OBD2 equipped engine work in my vehicle?" It says either get an OBDI harness/ECU/dist/etc or get the OBDII harness from integra and rechip/get OBDI ecu for DOHC VTEC car
