ECU Code Check Question
I searched the forums and couldnt find the answer.
I have a 2000 honda civic, and i did the jumper on the service plug....
When I turn it to ON, the check engine light stays on, and the SRS light flashes once, then comes back on. Is this normal?
Without the jumper, the car in on the check engine light and SRS light go out after 3 seconds.
Thanks!

Re: ECU Code Check Question (resol)
I am getting a jumpy engine syndrome, wanted to see if i could check for codes using the jumper method on the service plug. See if theres something on the basics i can do without killing myself at first.
So, i tried it... and all i got was a steady engine light and 1 pulse from the SRS light.

i mean if the cel isn't comin on then i wouldn't worrie about it... but if it is.. then pull over to the side and KEEP THE CAR ON.. then plug up the jumper.

I thought that in order to pull the codes from the On Board Diagnostics you have to have your car off when you insert the jumper and THEN turn your car on. And after that you can interpret the codes from the flashes that your CEL does.

we like to call that a ecu and the car doesn't have to be all the way on you just put the key in the on position
