ecu code 22
i have a '00 si and my problem is that my vtec is not crossing over.. i have an OBD1 ecu and the check engine light comes on throwing a 22 code. so that means the vtec "swith" or solenoid is not getting enough oil pressure. my question is what are some reasons i am not getting the right oil pressure for vtec to engage? thanx in advance.

Re: ecu code 22 (allmtrSI)
Most obvious oil (Check the level). Also check the solenoid itself. Sometimes they get dirty aand you have to clean it.

Re: ecu code 22 (allmtrSI)
check the harness converter possibly one of the pins got loose or disconnected.
but if you can't fix the problem then splice the vtec oil pressure wire to vtec solenoid and you should have no problems then

Re: ecu code 22 (Apex i ITR)
I'm also throwing Code 22.
Checked the vtec pressure switch and it's good.
I then checked the voltage for the blue/black wire and grounded the other pointer of the multimeter and only getting 1.03volts. The Helms says it should be close to 12v. I immediately checked the voltage at the battery and getting 12+.
It says to "Inspect for an open or short to ground in the wire between the VTEC pressure switch and the ECM (ECU) C15. If the wire is ok, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck"
Any ideas? Could it possibly be a bad ECU (OBD1 P72 is what I am using)?
I can try my friends ECU (same Hybrid).
Thanks!

Re: ecu code 22 (Hybrid93Hatch)
another option is to splice the oil pressure switch wire to the vtec solenoid wire. that should get rid off the problem.

So splice the oil pressure switch wire and the vtec solenoid? What exactly would this do?

What does that mean when it's "looped"?
I can't afford to have the motor messing up down the road. Thanks!

Code 22 mysteriously went away and Code 21 appeared. I then figured out there was a loose wire at the ECU. Now, no more codes
