which ECU to "unleash the beast" inside my EG?
i just baught a civic cx (but it seems the motor is VX) therefore it has vtec...dont belive me?
anyways i really want that VTEC to kick in so, i need a new ecu (im still rocking the stock CX ecu, its the way i baught it) so what are my options (price and performance-wise?)
btw: i have a VTEC harness and VTEC is plugged in, just dooing nothing, and i'm planning on a B18 in the near future, so a ECU that would work for both would be gold

Okay, I'll stop being a jerk.
Your motor is a D15Z1, the VX engine. It doesn't have regular VTEC like D16Z6's and B16A's. How it works, is that below 2k RPM two of the intake valves shut so that the engine will run leaner and burn less fuel, enhancing the MPG. Regular VTEC motors run on 4 valves all the time and at 5,000 RPM and the intake valves open more to let more air and more fuel in. Not to mention, the VX has an EGR valve that is exclusive to that model and no other motors have.
Basically, I lied to you and you need a VX ECU. The motor won't run properly and you risk significant damage if you use any other. You can probably find one on ebay or a parts website for ~$100.

Ive got an uber rare JDM ecu for you, its a P5837-12. It'll even make the b18 run with vtec. Im asking $850. Let me know.
or just get the vx ecu. Check Ebay out.

yeah i agree on the acceleration....but next spring a b18 is going in and if it lasts until the spring after that, a b18c1 or c5 (indecise) is going in, if not, another EG body will sport it.
