Ebrake adjustment?

I have a 1993 del sol S. I swapped on rear discs from a 93 del Sol Si. Everything bolted right up including the ebrake cables.

I currently have no brake fluid in my system, and when I pull the ebrake handle, the the right rear caliper seems to be doing its job because I can spin the hubs but the left rear I can spin all day long. I pulled the caliper off and watched the piston as the ebrake cable was pulled. It didn't look like anything was happening so I figured the piston was ceized. I then did the same to the right side (which was working fine)...same thing. How does the ebrake cable work, because Im confused as to whats wrong with my left caliper!!

Do I need brake fluid in the system for the parking brake to work?

Have you tried rotating the caliper piston clockwise? The e-brake is part of the caliper, the piston itself is screwed into the caliper. You should be able to see the pisotn move when you pull the side brake.

Yes, both pistons will compres by turning clockwise, and retract by turning counter clockwise. However, maybe when I am pulling the ebrake the piston only comes out a little and I don't notice.

Reguardless, I think I may have found the problem...the two bolts that secure the caliper to the caliper bracket were stripped and the threads in the pins were stripped too...maybe that caused a problem?

Oh well, reguardless...I ordered new pins and bolts.

Once you have the brake sys filled and bled, go in reverse (not too fast) and pull up on the E-brake to tighten up the sys.

My rear discs have somewhat uneven ebrake engagement, one side will lock up sooner than the other when pulling the e-brake up slowly (but both eventually lock properly). However, I suspected this might be due to the Integra cables being used for my EG, anyone else notice slightly uneven engaging?
