Hey man. I never used that turbo kit before but I just took a look at the pictures of it. Honestly, it looks like it is a very low quality turbo kit. Yes, it is cheap but the saying 'buy cheap, get cheap' is true. You might want to consider buying a turbo kit that is a little better quality. Thats just my 2 cents. Good luck.

If you have read any post on this forum with the name eBay anywhere in it, you'd know to stay far away from stuff from eBay that pertains to your engine. If you want to risk getting one good part out of thousands of not good parts, go right ahead, but I probably won't be the only one to tell you that you're better saving 'til you can get good stuff.
It is your money and your car in the end though, so you can do what you want.

If you want to save some coin they sell just the piping and intercooler in some kits. use that and buy a nice turbo and manifold. Try getting a rebulit turbo, to save a little more.

Re: ebay turbo kit on a b series
My buddy ran a generic kit on his del sol. It was pretty damn fast but who knows how long before you have problems with the turbo or mani cracking. Alot of people say its hit or miss i have read people saying they have used these kits with no problems and people with tons. You could of course add some extra strength to the mani. I myself built my kit locally with used quality parts, it can be done pretty cheap if you keep your eyes open constantly.

If i was gonna buy a kit for my B16 the only ones i would buy are the Greddy and Edelbrock Kits both are top quality.......edelbrock one is a bit pricy but is the only full kit i have ever seen where all parts are top notch
If your looking for sumting cheaper build the "kit" yourself otherwise save until you can afford a good quality one

hey man, its up to you.
my bro has a cheap ebay turbo kit on his ls for over 2 years.
nothing wrong with it at all.
i have a cheap turbo xs ebay kit on my gsr for a year.
no problems.
i also have over 5 grand invested into my drag car turbo and stuff.
as well with that, no problems.
obviously, my drag car is built with top notch ****, and i'm sure its stronger and out performs other low dollar knock offs.
but you're just lookin for some boost without spendin the bucks.
i own both, cheap and expensive.
and personally, my cheap kit works great.
makin 300+whp on a stock gsr at 8 psi.
you're not building a drag car, so you can go a little cheaper.
the only thing i'd do is watch out for the manifolds.
if you can, just get a cast log manifold.
i know kids that had the cheap manifolds from a kit, and they crack.
if you do go that way tho, weld on some braces ASAP.
regardless... have fun.

i've owned a ebay turbo kit on my 90 integra for 4 years now and only had the manifold crack once got it fixed by a local shop and hasnt missed up
But if you got the funds to buy a better brand than do it Because ebay is a 50/50 %chance youll get good or bad parts.

From personal experience i bought a 95 coupe with a ebay turbo kit and i got rid of it in a heartbeat dude they suck *** big time . Turbo sucks intercooler sucks. For that just get a used greddy turbo kit or a known brand kit used for the same price as one of those cheap new ones that will break in a week and you'll be pist.

Re: ebay turbo kit on a b series
wow didn't realize the ebay turbo kits come with a top mount manifold now. lol.
i haven't used an ebay turbo kit persay, but i have used just the manifold. it was braced, and lasted me about a year or so until i took the turbo kit off and sold my del sol. it worked great for what i used it for. as for the turbo itself, i've heard a lot of bad things about it such as the seals going out and i remember seeing a picture of the compressor housing coming apart like the epoxy melted. that kit comes with a lot of parts that can be useable, and you could just pawn off whatever stuff you don't need.

i got a buddy w/ sohc eg and he put an ebay turbo kit on. he's fast. really fast. zero problems. but i have another buddy who tried to copy him and his car ran like crap. blew white smoke like no other.
so i guess its hit or miss... but... my buddy w/ the crappy running one also upgraded his injectors and the other guy didnt.... so maybe thats the problem. lol
but generally, you buy cheap, you get cheap. someone on the forum was selling a b series turbo kit 4 1300 or something like that

Look up speedfactory from tacoma, wa. They have 10 second vitara turbo hatches. With ebay turbos. Something about getting an oil restriction so the oil drips into the turbo and the turbo's bearings doesn't go bad. Not a turbo man but it's definitely worth looking into.
