Ebay lip fitment
I have heard some people have fitments issues with ebay lips.
I wanted to get some idea of your guys opinions, if you have some pics that would help.
Anyone get cheap carbon fiber lips (not seibon or more pricier ones), and how do they fit?

Re: Ebay lip fitment
how much is a lip, really? i mean, unless you go with authentic mugen, then an oem Si one is only about $100 and it fits like a glove. EBay stuff just doesn't sit right. Don't waste your money. I laugh at people who need lips so bad that they buy junk and slap it on their ride.

Ebay lips are misses. They fit like ****, and will look terrible.
I always laugh when I see the people running around with lips that fit bar, and look terrible. It's a plus when they are close to falling off the car.

A couple years ago I bought a "type-r" front and rear lip. Same seller, same auction, the rear lip fit perfectly and the front lip wasn't even close. Save your money and buy something quality.

Re: Ebay lip fitment
I go through lips like crazy so I quit buying oem SI which are my favorite. I'd say most of the 'knock off' 'ebay' lips fit almost perfect till the sides/fender wells of the tires. They seem to flare out a tad instead of sit flush. Besides that... they've all "fit" and have been fine. With how low I sit, I could never rock a true mugen lip without crying every bump. SI lip is much more higher and I cried leaving the driveway so I put it away for its "needed moments.." not DDriving.
EDIT: I had a type r replica on my 99 a few years back and I was on 74 coming home from IN and hit a construction bump about 2 miles from 75 and it shattered the whole lip besides the sides. I just laughed because it was only 40 bucks. If it was a true R lip, I'd go back and collect the pieces.

I went replica. Buy a heat gun to help mold it a little. I am lowered about 2.5" and worry that if I spent $200+ on something OEM and quality, it would be destroyed. This way, i am not too worried about it.

OEM lips are pretty hard to hurt. I have a OEM sir, lower 2.5" maybe more, and I've never hit my lip on anything.
My buddy bounches his SIR off the ground, literaly, and it's still holding up fine.

Re: Ebay lip fitment
I got an ebay lip for my del sol. I ended up using the 3m double sided tape and drilling a counter sunk center hole for security. I used bondo before painting.
I thinks it fits pretty well. I was going low cost, so it fit in my budget without ricer looking body kits.

My Si had a mugen rep lip in ABS plastic that fit like a glove... I don't trust polyurothane at all... it's too flexible and heavy and will sag like a biatch... If you get an ebay lip, get one made of abs plastic.

Looks good, how does it fit where it wraps to the wheel well?

Re: Ebay lip fitment
Helpful thread. I'm torn between shelling out the cash for oem SI which is want I want, or just going for an ebay lip and spending the money else where. Good thread
