Easy fix for broken clutch sensor depressor?
Hello All,
I have a 1993 Civic Si - the had been sitting for a while got it running again. The problem I am having now is the "clutch engaged and clutch disengaged" little plastic bumpers back underneath pedal that pushes in sensor to allow car to start have broken. I experienced same with brake pedal sensor not too long ago and was able to do a fix myself with a little jerry-rigging. With the clutch pedal I can only get one finger into that area at best. So it is going to be exponentially harder to do a "fix" on it. Should I remove pedal? Can I bypass the safety switch? Does anyone suggest a fix for this issue?
Thanks in advance,
SiCivicHB1993

The easiest way I found to shove the stopper in the hole is to use a piece of wire to guide it into the hole and a flat bladed screw driver to shove it in. And you really do need to shove the driver seat all the way back or remove it.

Re: Easy fix for broken clutch sensor depressor?
Thanks for all the help gents! I removed the front seat earlier as I had the same issue with brake bedal sensor/stopper pad whatever the heck it's called. But the clutch is even more restricted access. I was finally able to get a couple of local parts company guys to understand what i was talking about. One wanted 4 bucks for an assorted pack (which none may have fit it) and the other guy said yeah I can get one in for 8 bucks! I'm sorry but 8 bucks for essentially a plastic thumbtack just isn't cutting it. But maybe I will pay for it just to get it back on the road - I would do a "ghetto fix" cuz it's just not that essential for what it does, but the space is soooo limited! Ugh...Thanks for the ideas guys!

PS - I suppose this is actually good news after pulling starter to test it and check battery and all fuses and connections with multimeter but I almost feel like replacing starter would of been easier after pulling and reinstalling it - actually i KNOW the starter would of been easier - I must find a friend with tiny tiny hands!
