Default Early 99 Civics have an OBD2a ECU?

well im in the middle of gettin final parts for my turbo and from what i heard 99 civics have OBD2B ecu's well im guessin in early 1999 (like my car, which was built in 2/99) some still had OBD2A ecu's still in them... as some people know the easiest way to see a difference between the A's and the B's is how they r plugged in... example like whats in my car with the OBD2A, ur plug-in should be: A is plugged, B is left blank, C is plugged and D is plugged...
and in the OBD2B how its plugged is: A,B, and C is all plugged and D is blank...

still thats my theory is that they didnt exactly change to OBD2B til later on in the year.... just if u got an early 99 model civic integra etc... really check what type of ecu u got and how its plugged in...

The only '99 Civics that are OBD2A are the HXs (all '96 - '00 HXs are OBD2A) Integras didn't go to OBD2B until 2000.

I can verify this as I have both 97 & 99 hx's. Honda did have issues with the p2n ecu which I'm taking a guess that my 99 had gone to the bad because someone had replaced it with a cali spec one and the car has been registered in va the whole time since new.

The dealer did replace my 97's ecu for free under the emissions warranty extension.

they are good cars and just like any other honda once you get past the cracked manifold, 5 wire o2 sensor and egr issues.
