Eagle Rods + Lots of water = ...
Eagle rods, and a big puddle.
Pulled this out today, more details later.
Okay, most people on here know Owen. Wed, he hydrolocked his car. The blower belt was broken, so the jrsc is all to the good.
We took the head off, and luckily, all the valves and stuff are good, the head probably needs to be cleaned and checked, but it's probably all good also.
I was actually pretty impressed by the work inside the motor, it was all done by KMS, and the knife edged crank, intake porting, etc, all looks really good.
The block has already been bored to service limit I believe, and the h-beam took out a pretty nice notch on the bottom of the #2 cylinder, so I don't think that this shortblock will see the light of day anytime soon.
The bearings and the crank look good, no scaring or anything, so if Owen decides to use a b16 shortblock on his next setup, he'll be able to use the crank again, you know. Anyway, there are more details to add, but whatever.
Oh yeah, we pulled it out with no cherry picker too, about as shady-tree as it gets yO!

I copied and pasted a bunch of this from another board. Basically, a buddy of mine with a JRSC'd Si, hydrolocked his car, the motor has only been built for 9 months, and he has intentionally not beat on it. Then this happens, sucks.
Luckily, the belt broke just before this happened. So no rotor collision.

thats the risk you take in owning a CAI. You shouldn't even waste your time with a bypass though. If your gonna do that then why not just get a short ram.

I hydro locked my b18b a week after I got it . As soon as I hit the water clutch went in, motor stopped. Pushed the car out of the puddle(f-ing lake in the middle of the road), pulled the plugs, cranked a couple times, changed all the fluids and has been running strong since. Glad my rod's didn't bend, I was broke as hell at the time.

Block guard, he was just cruising along like 40 mph, probably in 3rd gear or so. Cars behind and to the side of him, no way to avoid the puddle.

Damn that sucks. Does anyone ever think just shut off the engine?

there is a link to a video of this car, beating up on the legend himself, Tom.
That was before the rebuild. It was 11:1 with 12 psi up until wed of course.
